Experience
Dr. Beach is currently Professor and Chair of Criminal Justice at Point University in West Point, Georgia. He has over five decades of experience with a dual career in public service and academe.
Dr. Beach served as a municipal police officer in Columbus, GA for more than 25 years, retiring in 1999 as Chief of Staff before transitioning to public safety training as a regional academy director with the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. He retired as Deputy Director of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in 2013.
Dr. Beach also began a dual career in higher education in 1995 as an adjunct professor, later joining the faculty of the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College at Columbus State University in 2000, where he continues to serve. In 2012, he began teaching in Saint Leo University’s graduate programs. After retiring from the State of Georgia in 2013, he transitioned to full-time service with Point University.
